What’s up in Mrs. B’s Belly
Apr 29
I went to the doctor yesterday and the news wasn’t great. My blood pressure was not just high for me, but high for a person with “normal” blood pressure (I’m usually really low). The good news is that Kennedy is definitely head down now! Woo Hoo! I am having a little trouble with swelling, but other than that I am feeling fine. Currently Dr. S sees no need to induce me early, which really bums me out. I am SO ready to meet this little baby! Currently I am not dilated or ephased at all. I took my blood pressure at work today and it was higher than normal for me, but not as high as yesterday.
Current Baby stats:
35 weeks 4 days
10 days until full term
31 days until my due date
Baby B weighs over 5 lbs now
An Awesome Day
Apr 23
Today was a great day at school. We had “art day” where the kids visited stations with different artist all day. My students really loved the drum man. There was also a moment during lunch when one student attempted to join the band that was playing. I have such awesome students! One artist at school today was Ernest Lee, the chicken man. I had already planned on buying one of his pieces to put in the nursery. He is known for painting chickens and palmetto trees. Today before his presentation I was looking at his artwork. He noticed I was pregnant so real quickly painted a flamingo and put a baby in its beak to look like a stork. He asked me if it was a girl and I said yes so he painted “Its a girl” on the top. He signed it for me and told me to pick out a few more. I have two that I want to put up in the nursery. I can’t wait to hang them!

Potter goes to the vet
Apr 9
We took Potter today for his annual vet appointment. The doctor said that he is in great health! That is always good to hear. I asked if there was anything he thought we should do to get Potter ready for the new baby. His advice was just what I wanted to hear. 1) Don’t alienate or get rid of your dog 2) let your dog sniff and love on the baby too 3) continue to let the dog sit in your lap and reward him when he sniffs the baby 4) never jerk the baby up away from the dog because that will teach the baby to be afraid of dogs. At baby class tonight the book said that having a dog in the house when the baby first comes home will lower the chance of the baby being allergic to dogs. The book also said that breast feeding for one year will lower the chance of the baby having food allergies, skin allergies, and asthma. The other thing the vet said was that Potter needs teeth pulled. At least 7. Most of them in the front of his mouth. He is going to look like a “Bubba” more so than a Potter:( Poooor Potter! We are heading out again tomorrow to go to see Jay’s family for the Easter weekend. I’m hoping we make it back early Sunday because I have a CRAZY day on Monday. Let’s hope Kennedy doesn’t try to make her appearance this weekend!

Savannah Trip
Apr 6
Jay and I packed our bags this past weekend and headed to Savannah for the weekend. We stayed in midtown and drove into the historical district. We had so much fun eating, people watching, and sight seeing. We ate Friday night at the Shrimp factory which was heaven. I wanted to try everything! Saturday we ate at Firefly Deli for lunch and Jazz’d for dinner. Both were wonderful. The weather was beautiful and we took some really nice walks. I must say I was relieved that Kennedy was not born in Savannah. We are planning to go to Beaufort this weekend to see Hayes for Easter. I am currently uploading all the pictures from the camera so keep checking back in the galleries!
and baby will make three
Apr 1
Jay and I just booked our final trip as a family of two. We are heading to Savannah this weekend just the two of us. This will be the first trip the two of us have had just the two of us since our honeymoon (isn’t that just sad!!!). My mom is going to look after our little fur baby because the neighbors are going out of town and won’t be able to watch him. I think she thinks our little get away is silly:)
