Cleaning cleaning cleaning!

I am currently cleaning every chance I get (AKA when Kennedy naps).  We have several people coming over Sunday after Kennedy gets baptized!  I am so excited!

Check the baby gallery for pictures from our zoo trip and Kennedy’s first time in the pool:)

Pet Peeves

After a nice shopping trip today, I have found that as I get older I have more and more pet peeves.

1. Stores being re-arrainged: first Publix now Belk.

2. People who park in Stork parking who are not pregnant and do not have a newborn.

3.  People who call Kennedy a boy while she has a huge pink bow in her hair

4. People who use the handicap bathroom stall or dressing room when others are obviously open.

5.  People who stare when I change Kennedy’s diaper in public bathrooms.  Come on give the girl a little privacy.

6. Diapers that leak

The adventures of Kennedy Jaye

Today was a fun day. Kennedy and I stayed in bed until 10 when I had to get up and shower. I swear I changed her outfit a thousand times before going to meet the ladies at Chilis for lunch. I never really loved what she was wearing. As you all know this chick dresses well. After a fun lunch I came home to relax on my couch. I was visited by a very nice (although very annoying) door to door salesman. He was trying to sell me a vacuum. I told him I had no money (actually I lied and said that my husband wasn’t paid and our family paid all our bills.) This had the guy sceptical. Really no parents and sisters would pay for a house, car, baby, diapers. Right when I was telling my lie about how A) the outfits were ADORABLE and B) that guy high tailed it out here. It actually was alot of fun plus he cleaned my den:)

Currently in my neighborhood it is flooding and thundering. Kennedy is wide awake (every time she falls asleep the thunder wakes her back up, but boy is she happy), and Potter is litterally curled up as close as he can be to me with his head under the pillow. He does not like this storm. Jay is upstairs locked away in the guest room with a stomach virus. I am making him stay far far away from us girls. Can’t have Kennedy catching anything!

I am pretty bummed that Jay is sick tonight. He has been working late every day and I really needed some help with Kennedy tonight. Tomorrow we are going for her two month pictures at the mall and I need to do laundry, bathe her, and choose what she is going to wear. Not to worry though, super mom can do it!

I also feel the need to get input on Halloween costumes. This is a big thing for me and Jay. Every year we dress up. I really want Kennedy to have an awesome first Halloween with a totally unique costume. Any suggestions? I am thinking she will be a tiger during the day time because Clemson has a game that day, but what should she wear that night….decisions decisions….

Counting down :(

Sadly I only have 3 more weeks home with Kennedy. I am trying to enjoy every moment of it. I thought that by the time I went back to school I would have Kennedy on a schedule and in her crib. Well it turns out that I hate schedules and I’m too lazy to walk to the nursery in the middle of the night.
Most likely, on August 13, Kennedy will still be eating on demand and sleeping wherever and whenever the urge hits.

The good news: Kennedy has woken up from two nights and 6 naps with BOTH eyes wide open. Are the eyes on the mend???

On Friday Mama, Kennedy, and I went shopping and to Moe’s before I met with the pastor about Kennedy’s upcoming baptism. Friday night Kennedy, Jay and I went to eat at the Japanese steakhouse to celebrate Michelle’s 30th birthday. It was so nice seeing her and meeting all her friends. I should have a fun “click here” of all our pictures from Saturday night. I charged the camera and was ready for photo ops of Kennedy with the Jamison crew. Well camera I had, memory card I did not. Oops. So I will just tell you Kennedy had a great time meeting everyone at Clint’s house warming party. She also met her future husbands Preston and Conner. She left the party at ten and hung out with Papa Lovett and Barb. We came home at 1:00AM to feed and get to bed. On Sunday Mama came over to keep Kennedy while Jay and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. It was great and I must say it was nice to have some Target, movie, and Moe’s time without Baby K.

Sadly this weekend was not all fun. Friday night my sister’s two horses were struck by lightning. As many of you know, Lauren and I had horses the whole time we were growing up. Almost every fun memory I have as a child involve our two horses Sparky and Spotty. As many of you know, we had to put Sparky down in 2008 at the age of 28(?) due to heart troubles. It killed me to see my little buddy go. Spotty was much Older (over 30). He was a cancer survivor as well as a strong willed brave guy. He was a beautiful horse to say the least. Those two horses raised us. My sister had just bought her newest horse, Lakota, a little over a year ago. He was a sweet horse with a great personality. Lauren had said she was training him for Kennedy. Sadly, both Lakota and Spotty were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope Sparky, Spotty, and Lakota are running through fields of green in pony heaven. You will be missed Spotty and Lakota!

2 months ago right now at this very second

Kennedy was about to make her way into the world.  My life has been so blessed and so much better since 2:54 on May 14th, 2009.  Today was not a good day.  Jay and I got up and dressed and walked out of the house at 8:30 to get to Kennedy’s 2 month appointment at 9:00.  I knew it was shot day so I made sure that Jay came along with me.

Current stats:

  • weight: 9.38 lbs 15th percentile
  • head circumference: 14.5 inches 8th percentile
  • length: 22 inches 36th percentile
  • favorites: boob, ugly paci, light up play mat, and fun new mobile
  • dislikes: cute pacis, shots, belly button picking, and crusty eyes
  • daily schedule: 5:00 eat, 7:00 eat, 10:00 eat then get up and dressed, 11:30 nap in Mom’s arms, 1:00 eat, 1:30 play with mom, 4:30 eat, 7:30 eat then cat nap on and off,  10:30 sometime bath, read a book, pray or prayers, eat, lay in crib, 11:00 get in bed with mom (usually eat again), 1:00 eat then go to sleep in pack n play, 4:00 eat, repeat…..

We have been doing so many fun things and this has been my first chance to sit down and really update my pictures and add what we have been up to.  This past weekend we went to the beach with all of Kennedy’s “aunts” and “uncles”.  She even got to meet some friends we don’t get to see too often.  I tried to take her picture with everyone, but I’m sure I missed a few.  She even went out on the beach for a few minutes to take pictures.  We will be going later this week for another professional photo shoot.

Here are some pictures that I have been needing to update for quite a while now.

Wow I’ve been busy

Let’s see what all have me and Kennedy been up to since our last post.

We went to Orangeburg to celebrate Grammy (Barb’s) birthday.  She was a great surprise and loved meeting everyone there.  I pumped a bottle before I left and hit the road to Orangeburg… Sadly I forgot to bring a bottle.  I had to run up to the Orangeburg Walmart to buy one.  Most bottles at Walmart have Winnie the Pooh on them so Avent was NOT a choice.  I found a soothie bottle (like the ugly paci she loves.)  She loves this bottle so now we have a set of soothie bottles.

We spent 4th of July at lake greenwood with Jay’s family and had a blast.  Kennedy and Dori spent some time inside while Jay and I enjoyed some free time on the boat and in the lake.  Kennedy really enjoyed being held by everyone.

Kennedy will be 2 months old on Tuesday and that hurts my heart.  I only have one more month home with her before I have to return to work.  I love me students and I love my job, but I am really dreading having to drop her off at day care.  Sorry Oak Pointe friends…there will be tears the first few weeks.

Kennedy now: weight 8.5 lbs (I’m sure more that that now)

0-3 month clothes

loves wearing head bands her mommie makes

laughs and smiles

hardly ever cries

tries to roll over

can sleep 5 hours (usually still up every three)

goes to bed at 1:00AM

enjoys her play mat (but it makes her spit up)
