I cooked
Oct 25
I cooked a meal. Your impressed right? I mean Allison does not cook and now she has cooked a meal! Here is a preview into the dinner I made tonight…
I have been researching and reading for days the difference between store bought and homemade baby foods. I have looked at what to give her first, how to cook it, how to freeze it, how to store it, when to introduce it, etc. Overall I decided that for at least right now I am going to make all her food. We have so many allergies in our family that I want to know exactly what she is eating and where it has come from. The organic baby food is really expensive so I’ll be saving a little money to go towards my new sewing machine too.
First I had to steam them. I had to google how to do this, but it wasn’t too hard:) Then I put them into my tiny food processor with a little breast milk.
Kennedy waited very patiently while I cooked.
I put a small serving in her bowl and froze the rest.
She was ready to try something new. We love firsts!
She knew the first step. Opened her mouth as soon as she saw the spoon.
The first bite had mixed reviews

But as you can tell from these pictures she thinks her Mommy’s cooking is pretty good after all…

5 Months is GREAT!
Oct 25
This is by far my FAVORITE age! I thought she was growing up so fast and I would miss my little baby. No way! This little 5 month old talks, squirms, grabs stuff, laughs at things, loves her toys and stuffed animals, knows when she is dressed silly, and sleeping a little longer at night! She loves her mommy and daddy and loves when they play with her. She beams when she hears her daddy’s voice. She notices other children and like to smile at them. She is a ham and LOVES to get people attention w=in stores. She is just great! She isn’t too mobil yet so we aren’t having to childproof stuff, but this girl can move. She can slither, wiggle, roll, and squirm to get where she wants to be. Here are some new pictures of our little cutie! These pictures go from the most recent to last week. The first one is of us at Beef O Brady’s after Clemson’s big win yesterday. Then you will see pictures from Gymboree, Jay buiding our new stroller, and the pumpkin patch!
Today Kennedy is 5 months old. Can you believe it? My life went from great to perfect just 5 months ago. Oh how time does fly! Here are 5 really cool Kennedy facts in honor of her 5 month birthday
1. She does NOT like socks. She loves hairbows. She loves funny hats. She loves fun clothes. She loves hoods. She doesn’t like socks. She doesn’t like shoes. She will take the socks off and throw them… it is doing to be a long winter!
2. She can now roll over from her tummy to her back usually going to the left. Twice she has rolled from her back to her tummy. She can scoot with the best of them. Where you put her to bed is not where she wakes up. She has mastered the art of wiggling, head planting, and kicking her feet to roll over, turn about, and bump her head into the rails.
3. She likes to talk and laugh. Kennedy now can make the sounds oooo, moooo, mamamama, naaaaa, and mooo. She usually makes these sounds while talking to her lion in the car. She loves to laugh and my day is not complete until she lets out a belly laugh. Things that make her laugh are her daddy trying to dress her, funny hats Deedee makes, being bounced or thrown into the air (or any other big movement), and raspberries on her tummy or cheeks.
4. Kennedy can sit unassisted for about one minute. This is new as of today. We are so proud of our little sitter. Oh yeah! She can also hold her own bottle. Pretty soon she will be going to college!
5. She has learned to grab everything (poodles, hair, car seat charms, toys, everything!). So far Potter has been very patient and just waits for us to save him while she has his license or ear. She can also pass things from her right to her left hand and she loves to scratch her fingernails on everything!
Here are some fun pictures from our 2 gymboree classes and some of her Halloween costumes:
