Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for and I’m pretty sure there isn’t enough room here to type it all!

1. My little family. When Jay married me I thought I was so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. Jay, Potter, and I lived I happily just the three of us for 3 years before we started feeling like something was missing. On January 1, 2008 we started trying connceive. It was a bumpy road but as of May 14th we bacame a happy family of 4. I am so thankful to have a happy healthy poodle, a loving sweet husband who puts up with me day in and day out, and of course for Kennedy. Our family is complete with her in it. I am so thankful that Kennedy is in our life. I am so thankful that I had a pretty calm pregnancy. I am so thankful that Kennedy arrived full term. I am so thankful that she is a happy and healthy little girl.

2. I am so thankful to have such a huge family that I get along with so well. I am so thankful for my my mom and Scott who live near me. I am so thankful that Kennedy will get to grow up knowing her Papa Scott and her DeeDee. I am so thankful that my mom and I have gotten closer since Kennedy has joined our life. I am so thankful for my sister and that she found her other half in the world. I can’t wait for Kai to become part of our family. I am so thankful for my dad and Barb. It is so awesome to see my big, tough Dad just melt when he is around Kennedy. She is such a lucky girl to have so many wonderful grandparents. I am so thankful that Barb has joined our life and that she brings a smile to my Dad’s face every day. I am so thankful for “Miss” Dottie and Dr. B. They are great inlaws and I am so thankful and lucky to have married into such a great family. They love Jay so much and they treated me like family long before Jay and I said I Do. I am also thankful for Jennifer, Stroh, Meredeth, Kyle, and of course Hayes. I love being part of a big family. I am also thankful for Grangran, Bib, and Rosemary. I grew up knowing my great grandparents and I want Kennedy to know hers.

3. I am so thankful for my job and co-workers. Although being a teacher is a roller coaster (this year more than any). I love Autism and knew for a long time that I wanted to dedicate my life to teaching students with Autism. I am so thankful to have Laura, Alphea, and Jenny in my classroom. Together we make a great team and whether they are playing roles as my friends, mothers, or co-workers, they make a difference in my life and in the lives of the students we teach.

4. I am thankful for a roof over my head, food on the table, and my health. I am so thankful for the ability to nurse Kennedy and give her all the food she needs through me.

On a different note…. the Christmas tree is up. So far it makes Kennedy coo and drool!

Happy half birthday

Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Kennedy is officially 6 months old!  Can you believe it!?!  This has been the fastest 6 months of my life!  Where is the slow motion button?

Today was a great day for a 6 month birthday celebration.  We slept in late (Kennedy joined us in bed around 7:00), ate a great lunch at beef o bradys, and watched Clemson play football.  It was also a great day for the mailman to come.  He delivered our favorite newspaper (the orange and white) and our Christmas cards!  If you don’t think I have your address, please send it to me so that I can mail you a Christmas card! I’ll show you my favorite page from the Orange and White, but you have to wait until after Thanksgiving to get your Christmas card.  I must say they look adorable!

How cool is that?  Kennedy is in the Orange and White!

New friends, old friends, halloween and Clemson

New friends, old friends, halloween, and Clemson photos

We had a great weekend in Clemson!  We spent the weekend with our good friends Sarah, “Amick”, and Sarah’s brother Carl.  Their son Lucas is a year older than Kennedy and absolutely adorable.  He and Kennedy became great friends.  We tried to go to the game Saturday, but the weather was so yucky.  We got to Clemson and went tailgating, but once the rain came we left.  We did some shopping, then Sarah had some friends over for Halloween.  Kennedy sucessfully wore all four costumes on Saturday.  We were extremely proud of her tiger costume at the game.  Everywhere we walked we heard a trail of people saying “look at that baby” and”she is so precious.”  We actually had 5 strangers take her picture!  Jay and I walked around campus with a huge heard after that and immediatly emailed the picture to the orange and white. I really hope the print it!  Sunday we stopped by our friend Tiffany and Clinton’s house and met their son Cohen.  I was so pleased that Kennedy was very social with Lucas and Cohen.  As you know I am always looking for the milestones and the Autism flags.  I was so happy to see that Kennedy was truly interacting with the kids.  She was completely laughing at Cohen!  I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed our weekend!
