We took Potter today for his annual vet appointment. The doctor said that he is in great health! That is always good to hear. I asked if there was anything he thought we should do to get Potter ready for the new baby. His advice was just what I wanted to hear. 1) Don’t alienate or get rid of your dog 2) let your dog sniff and love on the baby too 3) continue to let the dog sit in your lap and reward him when he sniffs the baby 4) never jerk the baby up away from the dog because that will teach the baby to be afraid of dogs. At baby class tonight the book said that having a dog in the house when the baby first comes home will lower the chance of the baby being allergic to dogs. The book also said that breast feeding for one year will lower the chance of the baby having food allergies, skin allergies, and asthma. The other thing the vet said was that Potter needs teeth pulled. At least 7. Most of them in the front of his mouth. He is going to look like a “Bubba” more so than a Potter:( Poooor Potter! We are heading out again tomorrow to go to see Jay’s family for the Easter weekend. I’m hoping we make it back early Sunday because I have a CRAZY day on Monday. Let’s hope Kennedy doesn’t try to make her appearance this weekend!
