I think this is the first time I have had a chance to sit in weeks. No husband.. Kennedy is napping… The house is clean… No work demands…. Just me and my thoughts:)
Thought 1: Is the Earth going crazy? Earthquakes… hurricanes… rain… snow in SC? This is all too much! I must say my original thoughts on Haiti were “good can come from this”. I always try to see the positive in stuff. I always look for the positive in people. I always try to look for the positive in situations. My cup is always half full. On a side note this is not always a good thing. I am blindsided all the time and the mean things people say and do. I am always taken advantage of. And I get so upset when bad things happen to me. I found out that some people who I thought were friends were calling me ABC behind my back because of this (Allison B Clueless). After this hurtful instance I thought I should be tougher. I should be mean. I should look for the negative in people and situations. That mentallity lasted only a week. I still think people are good. I still think the world is a good place. I still think good will come from the earthquake in Haiti. That country has needed help for a long time. Those children needed adopting. The country needed medical supplies. The county was often just pushed back into the far corners of peoples mind. I have always wanted to go to places like that and teach, adopt children, help in any way possible. Maybe one day I will be able to do this still. As for Chili I am equally upset. Those poor people were just sleeping. They went to bed with no idea as to what was about to happen to them. Now what? What will happen next?
2. Kennedy is growing. Fast. I swear she wakes up from naps bigger than when she went to sleep. Like literally within one week she skipped past 9 month clothes and can wear 12 month clothes now! She went from petite to HUGE. She likes to eat. She likes to eat alot. She loves tasting food and she likes food with taste. She also still nurses 6 times a day! I can’t wait to go to the doctor on Friday to get her weight and height stats.
3. I got a new sewing table. I love it! It is glass top with black flowers on it. So chic! I think I am almost ready to open my ETSY shop. Who wants to buy something?
4. Potter is so cute. He has been ignored some since Kennedy came along and finally the other day I groomed him. I cut out his matts and gave him some love. He is such a good big brother and loves to be with Kennedy (until she slithers towards his food).
5. I have actually been cooking lately. I like to have dinner ready when Jay gets home to share it with Kennedy. She is such a fan of everything I cook it really motivates me to try more. She actually ate pheasant the other night and liked it too!
6. The therapist are thinking we may have as little as a month left with her helmet. I am so ready to get my baby head back!
7. Sweeping the floor is my favorite chore. Mopping is my least favorite.
8. I am planning on walking in the march of dimes walk with someone I have known forever…. but not really well. I feel like I know her and her family so well from reading her blog and hope that my readers feel the same about me. I had a co-worker who is at a different school now tell me the other day that she checks my blog when she needs a lift. She said she likes to see how much I am loving being a Mommy (Hi Lucy!)
9. I love my job. I love my students. I love my assistants. I love the friends I met through my job. I love that my district is cutting back on summer school teachers so I won’t be tempted to work my job this summer. Summer school money is good. Summer school teaching is fun. Summer school kids are awesome. I know if it is an option and childcare would be an option I would do it in a heartbeat. I don’t want to do it. I want to spend the summer with Kennedy. I want to go to the zoo. I want to go to the spray park. I want to go for walks. I don’t want to work with summer!
10. Summer is coming! I can’t wait for this summer. I can’t wait to get Kennedy’s cute little fanny into a bathing suit. I can’t wait to take her out on the boat. I can’t wait to take her to the pool. I can’t wait to take her to the beach. The end of the summer we are taking a weeks vacations with the family to have a beach front house. I can’t wait. I just keep looking at the pictures of the house and imagining all the fun things we are going to do there!
11. Kennedy has one word she loves to say all the time. Sure we have heard a few words from her: mama, dada, lala (potter), no… but her word. Her favorite word. The word we hear all day and all night… “uh oh”. She says “uh oh” when she drops somthing. She says “uh oh” when she throws something. She sayd “uh oh” when she passes gas. She says “uh oh” when we drop something. It is so stinking cute to hear her say it. Uh oh.. I hear someone awake in her crib. Nap time is over!

I love this post! And I don’t think that being sensitive to others and their feelings and their situations makes you clueless at all. It means you are caring and compassionate!
I can’t believe how fast Kennedy is growing and changing! On that same note, I can’t believe how fast MK is growing as well. It all goes by so fast! That is so neat that K is saying “uh oh”…too, too sweet!
So excited about you guys walking with us! I can’t wait!
Oh, and I hate sweeping and mopping!
