Today was a very fun day. After a petty good night (not counting the party Kennedy had from 3-4), I woke up and fed Kennedy her breakfast. I then was able to wash my hair, but could not entertain her long enough to dry and straighten it. Lucky for me my mom’s doctor appointment only lasted like one minute so when she called I asked if she wanted to come get some snuggle time. Of course she wanted snuggle time! She came over and hugged and loved on Kennedy while I finished getting ready. I then had to run up to school for a quick meeting with my co-workers (we really are a great group.) While I was gone Kennedy’s great-uncle, great-aunt, and 2 second cousins were able to come up from Georgia and meet Kennedy. It was so nice spending the day with them and showing off Kennedy (although she slept through most of the visit.) Hopefully she will get to meet her great grandfather soon. Tomorrow will be a first for Kennedy. We are heading to Lake Greenwood (one of mine and Jay’s favorite places to hang out). Kennedy will have her first overnight trip. I don’t even know how many outfits and diapers to bring!

Baby Blues?

Everyone has warned me that baby blues are going to set in. Many people have asked me if I have gotten to that point yet. I must say that today was the first time I have shed a tear since Kennedy has blessed my world. I was sitting in the glider this morning rocking my sweet little girl and thinking about how quickly the past two weeks of my life has flown by and how much Kennedy has changed in the past two weeks. As I looked at her chuncky little thigh a tear slipped out of my eye. This has been the best two weeks of my life. I want to freeze time and keep Kennedy so small and perfect as long as possible. No most likely this is not baby blue, but it does make me stop and think. Everyone told me when I was pregnant that I wanted to keep her in as long as possible and that life would be easier with her in me. Well to all those people who told me that all I have to say is I am so thankful that she came a few weeks early, that life is not easier with her in me, and that my life has been enriched so much since she has become part of it. Kennedy is such a joy to have in my life and I am so thankful to have her here!

Christmas Time

I know I am way behind on posting my weekly pictures. The baby had a great first Christmas and he/she isn’t even in the world yet! The baby got lots of awesome gifts that I know it will love once he/she sees them. We got an awesome knitted hat from my mom (she said it took forever to make but she wanted it to be ready on Christmas so badly), we also got some socks, booties, cute little hat, a onsie, a burp cloth, our first Clemson pacifier, a sweet book from Hayes, a rubber ducky, and the sweetest stuffed animal/blanket that is so soft. I am sure this will be the baby’s favorite! We find out if it is a boy or a girl on January 15th at 8:30. We will be posting after that his/her name! Pray that it cooperates and spreads its legs!

I have a friend at work who had her sweet baby last year. Michelle’s baby wanted to come into this world early so Michelle’s clothes are super cute and tons of them still had tags on them. I am so thankful for these clothes, because I only had a few pairs of pants to get me through the work week. Thanks to Michelle I now have a closet full of super cute clothes. I keep adding to the collection so Michelle will have even more when she is ready to try for number 2! Thanks so much for loaning me your super cute clothes!
